The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are the company’s current
flagship smartphones, and probably the most successful smartphones in
the company’s history. The Galaxy Note 7 was supposed to be a part of
the company’s high-end lineup this year, but after initially launching
it, the company had to recall it twice due to battery issues, and then
they opted to stop selling the device altogether, cut their losses. In
any case, Samsung has to make up to consumers somehow, and the Galaxy S8
is a great way to do that.
Chances are consumers will be quite interested in the Galaxy S8, especially considering they were unable to upgrade to the Galaxy Note 7, and many of them are currently using either the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge. Expectations for the Galaxy S8 are high, and according to the latest report, the company is planning to start testing the device in January. The source did not reveal a specific date as to when will this happen, but a number of suppliers allegedly revealed that January is the month when the Galaxy S8 tests begin. Following initial testing, Samsung is expected to begin distributing the full volume of supplies a month later, in February. Now, as per recent info, the Galaxy S8 is expected to come with a dedicated AI hardware button and an all-new virtual assistant. Some rumors had suggested that the phone will not sport a home button below the display, and that it will ship with a 2K display despite the fact some rumors have been suggesting we can expect to see a 4K panel. That’s not it, though, a recent rumor said that the Galaxy S8 won’t launch until April, which seems a bit odd considering pretty much everyone expects the device to land in February, but we’ll see.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 could come with a considerably different design compared to its predecessors, at least if rumors are to be believed. Not many details are known thus far, aside for what we’ve mentioned in the previous paragraph. This smartphone will be fueled by Samsung’s new Exynos-branded flagship SoC, and it remains to be seen if Samsung plans to partner up with Qualcomm once again and release a Snapdragon 830-powered variant as well.
